(Guest: Dr. Siddhi Aryal)
“COVID-019 has exacerbated some of the existing crises that our health systems have already had to begin with. If you remember the early onset of COVID within our own region, even in a city-state like Singapore, the fault lines were detected in areas where, in it, maybe the systemic oversights weren’t there.
The same case applies to places like India, where there were long lines of migrant workers turned back to their domiciles, not being able to fend for their families, with no access to food.
If we designed public health with more generous funding, in partnership with the local communities, that is when we get to reap the benefits of public health as we’ve seen in several other countries.”
Dr. Siddhi Aryal is the latest guest on Future of Work, Now by Salesforce. He speaks on the improvements that can be done in Southeast Asian healthcare, along with the challenges ahead as the pandemic continues.
