Joshua P started off as a disco mobile jockey in 1999, which naturally makes him a veteran hero in the local club scene.
While building up his interest in all genres of music, he had a special fondness for “Nu- School Breaks” – a form of “Breakbeats” music, which surfaced in the late 90’s. His love for “Breaks” gave him a uniqueness, which grabbed the attention of many local clubs in Singapore. In 2002, he founded and created his own night which aims to deliver the only finest beats in town, called Philes Of Sound (POS).
Successfully kicking up a storm on the floors of big clubs such as Zouk –Phuture, and underground venues such as Bar Baa Black Chic, POS earned him promising reviews from national media, namely The New Paper and I.S. Magazine. His versatility in music enables him to appeal to different crowds with dynamic and varied music tastes. When not assaulting the decks of the local bars and clubs, he used to be a regular resident of Thursday Night live and Fixation on Meshradio, an online radio show consisting of Singapore’s best musical minds – DJs, producers, and music lovers – who share a passion for good music and a talent for production.
Expect only the classiest of sound ranging from disco, house, funk, soul, jazz, and many more when he hits the deck. Having played alongside local and international DJ acts, Joshua’s influence is international, and believes that experimentation is as important as putting out the floorfillers.
